Objects in the screen are closer than they appear (in here)

“Objects in the screen are closer than they appear (in here)” Variable dimensions Foam and felt fabric installation 2017

“Objects in the screen are closer than they appear (in here)” is an installation resembles a pixelate room. Looking at a tendency of screen culture that developing in our society today made us easily believe on representations which is appear on digital interface. Pixel is a basic form of digital representation. In this installation, I present spatial aspect on that pixel representation and intentionally play along with the material and perspective which also present when a two dimensional representation is re-created to be a three dimensional objects.

In this work I want to play with people’s perspective on screen representation. A two dimensional representations on the screen have a flat form with no other dimension. If that representations are presented in a physical space, then there will be formed into a new perspective on that new dimension. I create a space which is a representation of a pixelated room, such as kitchen, but then it can also be seen as a living room from other perspective.
